Had a major set back in the project! Drove the pivot pin out of the swing arm and transmission (the same way I have done before) to find my transmission mount broken. This was a rebuilt salvage bike, so I'm guessing it was cracked during the wreck at the bottom and we never saw it. Then continued to crack over the two years I rode it, and when I drove the pin out it broke it all the way. Anyway, trying to fix it rather than replace the entire housing. Welded the top crack, but couldn't get to the bottom side. So I took a piece of aluminum bar stock and cut and ground it until it was a perfect fit underneath. Welded this block to the transmission and to the broken collar. Then made several stitching passes to build it up. Finished it off with All Metal to clean it up and add "A Little" strength. We shall see if it holds up. This is a piss pour design by HD! There is no reason not to extend the casting out on the bottom to add strength. It would not have interfered with the swing arm travel. I personally wouldn't have designed the rear motor mount and the swing arm together. Maybe if this doesn't work, or in addition to, I'll come up with a rear trans support.

Great job Bill. Hope you like the 180 front as much as I do.

Thanks guys! Installed the swing arm last night, and I had plenty of clearance. As you can see by the picture where some of the paint is scratched off, that it never touches what I added. It bottoms out on the lower transmission case. So the build continues this weekend.
